# Distribute with AltStore Classic

AltStore Classic is a platform designed for sideloading .ipa files. [Learn more.](/altstore-pal-v.-altstore-classic.md)

Using AltStore Classic you can distribute apps to anyone for free, without a paid Apple Developer account. You control when and how you release your apps, no review by Apple necessary. 

By simply hosting a [Source](/developers/make-a-source.md), which is just a JSON file with information about your app(s), along with your apps' compiled app (.ipa) files, you can distribute to all AltStore Classic users in seconds.

### Instructions

1. Upload your compiled app (.ipa) to your own server.
2. Create and host your [Source](/developers/make-a-source.md) with metadata about your app.
