# Source Discoverability

### Overview

If you distribute with AltStore PAL, you can opt-in to make your source discoverable and share your apps, app updates, and news items from your source on the open social web.

After you opt-in, an automated account for your source will then appear on [explore.alt.store](https://explore.alt.store/), where people can discover and follow it. Your apps, releases, and news posts can then reach followers across supported social networks, including Mastodon, Threads, and Bluesky!

{% hint style="info" %}
Accounts are automated and you won't be able to personally access the account. If you'd like changes made to your account, email <apps@altstore.io>
{% endhint %}

### Instructions

1. Add a [`fediUsername`](/developers/make-a-source.md#fediusername-string) key to your source with your preferred username
2. Upload your source
3. Federate your source using our [REST API](https://faq.altstore.io/developers/rest-api#federate-source)
